Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Welcome to TeachPlug.

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the TeachPlug platform by teachers, parents, guardians and other users. By creating an account, submitting a teacher profile, purchasing a subscription, contacting a teacher through the platform or otherwise using TeachPlug, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1. What TeachPlug Is

TeachPlug is an online directory that connects independent teachers offering private tutoring services in Lebanon with parents or guardians seeking tutors for their children.

TeachPlug is not a school, educational institution, employer, recruitment agency, tutoring agency or provider of tutoring services.

Teachers listed on TeachPlug operate independently. TeachPlug does not employ teachers and does not employ, represent or act as an agent for parents or guardians.

TeachPlug does not participate in, supervise or control tutoring sessions or private arrangements entered into between teachers and parents or guardians.

2. Teacher Profiles and Verification

Before a teacher profile may become publicly visible, TeachPlug may require the teacher to provide information and supporting documentation for verification.

TeachPlug's admin team may verify certain information appearing on a teacher's profile, including:

  • Full name;
  • Gender;
  • Nationality; and
  • Diplomas, degrees and/or professional certifications listed on the profile.

Verification consists of comparing the information submitted for publication with the documents provided by the teacher.

Verification by TeachPlug does not constitute:

  • An endorsement or recommendation of the teacher;
  • Professional accreditation by TeachPlug;
  • A criminal-record or background check;
  • Verification of the teacher's character or conduct;
  • An assessment or guarantee of teaching ability;
  • A guarantee of the authenticity of documents beyond TeachPlug's reasonable review;
  • A guarantee that a teacher is suitable for a particular child or student; or
  • A guarantee of any academic result or outcome.

Information such as years of experience, availability, tutoring preferences, locations, subjects, session rates and other information that TeachPlug does not specifically identify as verified is provided by the teacher and is not independently verified by TeachPlug.

Teachers remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information they provide.

3. Identity and Qualification Documents

Identity documents, diplomas, certificates and other verification documents requested by TeachPlug are submitted by the teacher directly to TeachPlug's designated verification email address.

These documents are not uploaded through or stored within the TeachPlug website/platform itself.

Documents submitted for verification are used for verification and administrative purposes and are handled in accordance with TeachPlug's Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.

Teachers should submit only the documents reasonably required for verification and should not submit unnecessary personal information.

4. Teacher Responsibilities

Each teacher using TeachPlug is responsible for ensuring that:

  • All information provided to TeachPlug is truthful, accurate and not misleading;
  • All qualifications, diplomas and certifications claimed belong to that teacher;
  • Documents provided for verification are genuine and have not been altered or falsified;
  • Their profile information is kept reasonably accurate and up to date;
  • Their account is used only by them and is not transferred to or shared with another person;
  • They communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, guardians and students;
  • They comply with all laws and legal obligations applicable to the tutoring services they personally provide; and
  • They do not use TeachPlug for any unlawful, misleading, fraudulent or inappropriate purpose.

Teachers are solely responsible for the tutoring services they provide and for any commitments they make directly to parents or guardians.

5. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities

Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding whether a particular teacher is appropriate for their child. Although TeachPlug may verify certain information and documents as described in these Terms, parents and guardians should make their own assessment before engaging a teacher. Parents and guardians are responsible for:

  • Discussing their child's tutoring requirements directly with the teacher;
  • Confirming the teacher's availability, fees and tutoring arrangements;
  • Determining whether they are satisfied with the teacher before commencing lessons;
  • Agreeing directly with the teacher on session schedules, locations, fees, cancellations and other conditions;
  • Taking reasonable safety precautions when arranging in-person tutoring;
  • Providing appropriate supervision and safeguarding arrangements for minors where necessary; and
  • Monitoring the tutoring relationship as they consider appropriate.

TeachPlug's verification process should not replace the judgment and precautions of a parent or guardian.

6. Contact Between Parents and Teachers

TeachPlug provides a contact function that enables a parent or guardian to send an initial message to a teacher.

After the initial contact, further communication may take place directly between the parent or guardian and teacher outside the TeachPlug platform.

TeachPlug is not a party to those communications or subsequent private arrangements.

Communication between the parties is their own responsibility.

Teachers, parents and guardians are expected to communicate in a decent, respectful, appropriate and professional manner at all times.

The following behaviour is prohibited:

  • Harassment or repeated unwanted communication;
  • Threatening, abusive or offensive language;
  • Discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour;
  • Fraudulent or misleading communication;
  • Inappropriate communication with minors;
  • Misuse of another person's contact information;
  • Sending unsolicited commercial or promotional messages unrelated to tutoring; or
  • Any unlawful or inappropriate use of contact information obtained through TeachPlug.

TeachPlug may suspend or remove an account where credible information indicates serious or repeated inappropriate conduct or misuse of the platform.

7. Tutoring Arrangements Between Teachers and Parents

Any tutoring arrangement is made directly between the teacher and the parent or guardian.

TeachPlug is not a party to the tutoring agreement.

The teacher and parent or guardian are responsible for agreeing between themselves on matters including:

  • Tutoring fees;
  • Payment methods;
  • Lesson duration;
  • Number and frequency of lessons;
  • Tutoring location;
  • Online or in-person tutoring;
  • Scheduling and availability;
  • Cancellation or rescheduling;
  • Refunds relating to tutoring sessions;
  • Transportation or travel arrangements; and
  • Any other terms relating to the tutoring relationship.

Unless TeachPlug expressly introduces a separate service stating otherwise, TeachPlug does not collect tutoring fees on behalf of teachers and does not guarantee payment by parents or guardians.

TeachPlug is not responsible for recovering unpaid tutoring fees or resolving payment disputes between teachers and parents or guardians.

8. Safety and Tutoring Involving Minors

Because tutoring services may involve children or other minors, safety should be treated seriously by all parties.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for determining the circumstances in which tutoring involving their child takes place and for deciding what level of supervision is appropriate.

TeachPlug does not supervise tutoring sessions and is not physically present during meetings or lessons.

Teachers are expected to behave professionally and appropriately when interacting with children, parents and guardians.

Any suspected unlawful, abusive, dangerous or seriously inappropriate conduct should be reported to the appropriate authorities.

9. Teacher Subscriptions and Profile Visibility

Public visibility of a teacher profile may require an active paid subscription in addition to successful verification and approval by TeachPlug's admin team.

Applicable subscription prices and subscription periods are displayed before payment.

Where TeachPlug's payment process provides for payment authorization before profile approval, payment will only be finally collected once the teacher's profile has been approved for public visibility.

If the profile is rejected or required information or verification documents are incomplete and the profile is not approved for publication, the authorized payment will not be collected.

Payment of a subscription does not guarantee continued publication of a profile where the teacher subsequently breaches these Terms & Conditions.

TeachPlug may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price change will apply to future purchases or renewal periods and will not retrospectively alter the price of a subscription period that has already been paid for.

10. Subscription Cancellation and Refunds

A teacher may choose to cancel their subscription or request deletion of their account.

Subscription fees already paid are non-refundable if the account holder voluntarily cancels or deletes the account before the end of the applicable subscription period.

The teacher may continue to receive the benefits of the paid subscription until the end of the applicable subscription period where technically and administratively applicable, unless the profile or account has been suspended or terminated for another reason under these Terms.

Subscription fees are also non-refundable where TeachPlug suspends or terminates an account because the account holder has breached these Terms & Conditions, except where a refund is required by applicable law.

Cancellation of a subscription does not create an entitlement to a full or partial refund for any unused portion of an already-paid subscription period.

Where subscriptions are offered with automatic renewal, the automatic-renewal condition and applicable price will be displayed to the teacher before the subscription is purchased. A teacher may cancel future renewal in accordance with the cancellation options made available by TeachPlug.

11. Suspension, Rejection and Removal of Profiles

TeachPlug reserves the right to reject, hide, suspend or remove a teacher profile or account where there is a reasonable basis to do so, including where:

  • Verification fails;
  • Required verification documents are not provided;
  • Information provided appears inaccurate, misleading or fraudulent;
  • False or falsified documents are submitted;
  • The teacher impersonates another individual;
  • The teacher seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms & Conditions;
  • The platform receives credible reports of inappropriate conduct;
  • The account is used for fraudulent, illegal or abusive purposes;
  • Contact information obtained through TeachPlug is misused;
  • The teacher attempts to interfere with the operation or security of the platform; or
  • Continued publication of the profile may reasonably expose users or TeachPlug to safety, legal, fraud or platform-integrity risks.

TeachPlug may request additional information or clarification before approving or restoring a profile.

TeachPlug is not required to maintain or publish a profile that does not meet its verification requirements or platform rules.

12. Complaints and Reporting

Users may report concerns to TeachPlug regarding:

  • Inaccurate or misleading profile information;
  • Suspected false qualifications or documents;
  • Fraud or attempted fraud;
  • Harassment or inappropriate communication;
  • Serious unprofessional conduct;
  • Misuse of the platform;
  • Safety concerns; or
  • Other suspected violations of these Terms & Conditions.

TeachPlug may review a report and take appropriate action concerning the relevant TeachPlug account or profile.

TeachPlug's ability to investigate conduct occurring outside the platform may be limited.

TeachPlug is not a court, arbitrator or dispute-resolution authority and is not required to resolve private contractual, financial or personal disputes between teachers, parents or guardians.

Where a matter may involve criminal, abusive, dangerous or other unlawful conduct, users should contact the appropriate competent authorities.

13. Prohibited Use

Users may not use TeachPlug to:

  • Create a false or misleading identity or profile;
  • Impersonate another person;
  • Submit false, altered or fraudulent documents;
  • Publish information they know to be inaccurate or misleading;
  • Harass, threaten or abuse another person;
  • Contact minors for inappropriate or unrelated purposes;
  • Engage in unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive activity;
  • Send spam or unrelated commercial advertising;
  • Harvest or collect user contact information for marketing or resale;
  • Scrape, copy or systematically extract TeachPlug's database or profile information without authorization;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another person's account or TeachPlug's systems;
  • Introduce malicious software or interfere with the proper functioning of the platform; or
  • Use TeachPlug in any way that violates applicable law or these Terms & Conditions.

14. Teacher Profile Content

Teachers remain responsible for information, photographs and other content they submit for publication on TeachPlug.

By submitting content for a teacher profile, the teacher confirms that they have the right to provide and publish that content and grants TeachPlug permission to use, reproduce, format and display it as reasonably necessary to operate, administer and promote the TeachPlug platform and the teacher's listing.

TeachPlug may edit the formatting, layout or presentation of submitted content without materially changing its intended meaning.

TeachPlug may reject or remove content that is misleading, unlawful, inappropriate or inconsistent with the purpose of the platform.

15. No Guarantee of Tutoring Results

TeachPlug does not guarantee:

  • The quality of tutoring provided by any teacher;
  • A teacher's availability;
  • That a parent or teacher will enter into a tutoring arrangement;
  • That a tutoring arrangement will continue for any particular period;
  • Academic improvement;
  • Examination or school results;
  • Admission to any school, university or institution;
  • The suitability of a particular teacher for a particular student; or
  • Any financial or other outcome arising from a tutoring arrangement.

Teachers remain responsible for the tutoring services they provide, and parents or guardians remain responsible for choosing the teacher they consider appropriate.

16. TeachPlug's Role

TeachPlug's role is limited to providing an online directory, profile-verification process as described in these Terms, and an initial means of contact between parents or guardians and teachers.

TeachPlug does not control or supervise the tutoring services provided by teachers.

No employment, partnership, joint venture, agency or similar relationship is created between TeachPlug and a teacher merely because the teacher has a profile or subscription on the platform.

Similarly, TeachPlug does not act as the agent or representative of a parent or guardian.

Any tutoring agreement is entered into independently and directly between the teacher and the parent or guardian.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TeachPlug is not responsible for losses, damages, disputes or claims arising directly from private tutoring arrangements, communications or transactions entered into independently between teachers and parents or guardians outside TeachPlug's role as described in these Terms.

This may include disputes relating to tutoring quality, tutoring fees, cancellations, scheduling, conduct during lessons, academic results or arrangements made directly between users.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability or legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

18. Platform Availability

TeachPlug aims to maintain the platform in reasonable working order but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access at all times.

Access may occasionally be interrupted due to:

  • Maintenance;
  • Technical problems;
  • Hosting or internet-service interruptions;
  • Security requirements;
  • Software updates;
  • Events outside TeachPlug's reasonable control; or
  • Changes to platform functionality.

TeachPlug may modify, improve, replace, suspend or discontinue particular platform features where reasonably necessary.

19. Intellectual Property

The TeachPlug name, logo, platform design, website layout, software, database structure, graphics and original content provided by TeachPlug are owned by or licensed to TeachPlug and may be protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit or create unauthorized derivative works from TeachPlug's protected content without prior authorization.

This section does not transfer ownership of teacher-provided profile content to TeachPlug.

20. Privacy and Personal Data

Use of TeachPlug is also subject to the TeachPlug Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, processed, retained and protected.

Users are encouraged to review the Privacy Policy before submitting personal information.

Teachers should not publish sensitive personal information on their public profiles unless expressly required or permitted by TeachPlug.

Parents, guardians and teachers must also respect personal information received from one another and should not use another user's contact information for purposes unrelated to the tutoring enquiry or relationship without that person's permission.

21. Account Deletion

An account holder may request deletion of their TeachPlug account subject to any information TeachPlug is legally required or legitimately permitted to retain.

Deleting an account may result in removal of the related public profile and loss of access to account features.

Deletion of an account does not automatically entitle the account holder to a refund of subscription fees already paid, as explained in Section 10.

Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should continue after account deletion or termination may remain applicable.

22. Changes to These Terms

TeachPlug may update these Terms & Conditions when reasonably necessary, including to reflect:

  • Changes to the platform or its services;
  • New functionality;
  • Changes to subscription arrangements;
  • Legal or regulatory requirements; or
  • Security or operational requirements.

The latest version will be published on the TeachPlug platform with an updated revision date.

Where a change materially affects an active paid subscription or a user's rights or obligations, TeachPlug may provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate or required by applicable law.

Continued use of TeachPlug after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, subject to applicable law.

23. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lebanon.

24. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found by a competent authority or court to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, where legally possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in effect.

25. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with the TeachPlug Privacy Policy and any specific subscription or payment conditions displayed and accepted at the time of purchase, constitute the terms governing the user's use of TeachPlug.

26. Contact

Questions, complaints or reports concerning TeachPlug, teacher profiles, subscriptions or these Terms & Conditions may be submitted through the contact details or communication channels published on the TeachPlug platform.

27. Acceptance

By creating an account, submitting a teacher profile, purchasing a subscription, sending a contact request or otherwise using TeachPlug, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and, where applicable, the TeachPlug Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, you should not create an account, purchase a subscription or use the TeachPlug platform.
